THEN IT SEEMS THE CURRENT LAWS ARENT WORKING G. EVEN STIFFER GUN CONTROL IS NEEDED THEN. WAS HE A CRIMINAL BEFORE HE USED A GUN? WOULD HAVE BEEN HARD TO DRIVE AROUND KNIFING PEOPLE FROM A CAR. OR KNIFING AT A SCHOOL THRU THE WALLS. CRIMINAL OR NOT, GUNS ARE CAUSING THE MOST DAMAGE TO AMERICANS.

It is sad for those involved. However, we need to look at the failure of the system here. As I read, this guy had a violent past. He was out on bail ($160,000) for stabbing and robbing a woman, and had a restraining order against him - (which means he could not legally possess weapons at least until that order was lifted). There was another, recent domestic violence call. Neighbors called in multiple complaints to the police about his screaming rampages and gunfire at all times of day/night. His sister said he struggled with mental illness. Comments to his mother showed he felt targeted, helpless, and desperate in his battles with his neighbors.

That's what I've trying to convey to WAMO. Regardless of laws, criminals do not obey them.

I wonder if I should just go ahead and give advanced thoughts and prayers to the next ones that happen?

To be fair, I sympathize with Trump here, who the hell can keep up with all these weekly mass shootings? There was one after that Texas church shooting where five people including kids got shot, but I can't even remember what state that was in. If the body count is under 20, my brain just files that away as another day in America.

And as I have stated NUMEROUS times, we can put a large amount of the blame on the media. By making these people famous they are inspiring copycats.

I'm just saying... it certainly doesn't apply to ALL homicides, but at least a couple of these recent killings exposed serious breakdowns in the application of existing laws - actions which, had they been carried out per current law instruction, would have prevented these guys from easily obtaining the weapons they used. Not to say they couldn't have acquired them through illegal means, but at least it wouldn't have made it easy for them. And that is the intent of those laws. So why ISN'T the question "why were current laws not adequately enforced" being asked / splayed all over the media?
 
GTGT this is all part of living in a FREE society, start taking away are freedoms and we might as well live in the Soviet Union.

Which brings up another interesting, hypocritical point. The entertainment industry (Hollywood) is largely liberal, creative people. They are against guns, but when was the last time you saw a movie or show WITHOUT guns in it? Sure, there are a few. But shootouts, explosions, killing, death, mayhem and destruction sell, so they glamorize it to the hilt to maximize profits at the box office. But somehow that isn't deemed a factor in our "gun culture" here in America.

Did you see the article in Automotive News where they think the Dodge Demon should be banned because it is too powerful and too dangerous to be on the streets? Look up the article "Keep the Dodge Demon off our Roads".
