AW editorial: Why are gas prices up when oil prices continue to drop?

Is everyone certain that gouging isn't taking place?

The price of oil has gone up SLIGHTLY over the past three days, yet the price of my most-frequented station IS UP TO $3.19 today, AND AS i POSTED SUNDAY, IT WAS DOWN TO $2.74!

That's a 45-cent increase in THREE DAYS. Can anyone suggest a reason aside from gouging?
