WAMO, read my posts 7/8/12 and especially (most importantly) #19. We're not talking about eliminating violent crime, we're talking about mass shootings.
You need to go from arguing to acceptance of mass shootings. Get your pre-"thoughts and prayers" on for the next one. This is simply a byproduct of our rights.

The vast majority of the guns used in the "gun deaths" are justifiable, and the murders such as Chitown, Detroit, etc. are coming in from Mexico, the deep web, and other countries. There MAY be a stolen gun that is used now and then but that's it. I'll answer the question for you. Taking MY gun away will accomplish nothing more than making ME a victim. Period.

Right! Taking Greg's guns just makes him vulnerable to criminals and he wouldn't be able to check the government tanks and F-22 Raptor's if he didn't have his guns. No, mass shootings have no connection to the 2A what so ever. The 2A simply states we have a right to bear arms. It's not a right to murder. A person armed with a gun will usually kill more people than if he were armed with a knife. BUT, a person armed with explosives can kill many more and much quicker than a person with a gun. I guarranty you that if guns magically disappeared off the face of the earth tomorrow that the violent crime rate would only fail to drop, it would increase. Take a look at the stats for Venezuela, Cuba, U.K., Australia and many more countries that have tightened their laws and/or removed guns. Then, take a look at Switzerland, who now with a few exceptions, requires everyone to own a weapon. But compare apples to apples. Violent crime. Not just gun deaths, violent crime and murders. You'll find some very interesting data once you've looked it over.
